The Gender and Development (GAD) Orientation led by Ms. Marie Crisonie Mengullo, GAD Focal Point System-TWG member (Permanent) of This Region, and an Online Forum discussion with key legislations directly affecting women's rights and the resource speaker is Atty. Magnolia Dela-Cruz-So, Attorney III from Right-of-way Acquisition and Legal Division.

The forum covered the following laws:

1. Republic Act No. 11861: Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act
2. The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012
3. Republic Act No. 8972: Solo Parents' Welfare Act of 2000
4. Republic Act 10754: An Act Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of Persons with Disability

These laws were extensively discussed by experts in the field, providing insights into their implications and benefits for women in our society. A total of 49 employees participated, 41 of whom were female and 8 were male. We believe that awareness and understanding of these legislations are crucial in empowering women and promoting gender equality. By having a better understanding in these legislations may help us in our mission to create a more inclusive society.
